We chose this cruise because we love cruising. We have sailed with Princess on numerous occasions, and knew pretty much what to expect. We found the staff to be friendly and attentive, especially in the Club Class dining area and Crown Grill. We found Sabatinis' surcharge excessive for the menu selections, though the service there was excellent as well. We were already aware of the elevator situation on this ship, which was an inconvenience at times, so we did a lot of walking (and that's a good thing!) The elevators seemed stuffy and lacked proper ventilation, especially given the fact that people seem to want to stuff just one or two more people into the car.

Unfortunately, we had reason to visit the ship medical center due to a fall my husband had leaving the Horizon court early in our cruise. The staff there was helpful and attentive during the several return visits we had there for this issue during the two weeks we were on board.. The Spa services were great, but our experiences there were a bit of a disappointment given the fact that we had documentation from your website about Complimentary Lotus Spa Thermal Suite access. The print out we had (on Princess letterhead) stated that this was available to full suite passengers on both the Regal and Royal. When I spoke to the front desk about this, they made a copy of our documentation, but we did not hear anything more from them. During our 2 week cruise, we had 8 spa treatments between the my husband and myself. Surcharging for the additional use of these facilities is a bit much. Tenders ashore should have a few open windows to provide a bit of ventilation.

As it turns out, we will be sailing on the Regal again with friends on February 19 - a trip planned after we booked this one. Although we would have chosen another ship for variety, we're looking forward to spending time with our friends and visiting with the great staff in the Club Class dining room.

Cabin Review

Owner's Suite with Balcony

Cabin S3

If we had had a choice, we would have chosen a suite midships. If booking this cabin, you should be aware that the suite is not open like the other suites, rather broken into a living room facing the stern, a short hall with closets leading to the bedroom on the starboard side. Bathroom is interior, spacious and well appointed, though the towels were surprisingly dingy and scratchy. I asked for others and was offered some others which, though smaller were a bit softer. Bar setup was nice, though we requested diet soda instead of the other choices on our first day out, and it was never done. Fruit basket was replenished often and was very nice. We enjoyed the wrap around veranda which offered great views to the starboard and stern. The veranda was not very wide, however, due to the contours of the stern of the ship. (Suite balconies on the lower levels were a bit larger, though if you went to the lowest level you were only one deck from the smoking area.) Movie options in cabin were a nice addition.
