This itinerary and ship were new for us, and drive to the port not terribly bad. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze, especially since we carried our own luge on and off.
We headed right to our cabin to drop off our luggage, immediately meeting Max, our cabin steward. He couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. The cabin is what we expected: plenty of room for a wheelchair to maneuver, and an easily negotiable ADA shower. We had an inside cabin, so we tune the TV to the bridge cam, mute the sound, and there's our window to the world. There were more outlets (4) than we've seen before. What a pleasant surprise!
After dropping our luggage, we headed to the main dining room for lunch. Delicious as expected. Much less hassle than the buffet where everyone seems to go!
Great cabin. Easy to negotiate with a wheelchair. Comfortable bed. Hint: take lots of magnets. The walls & door are steel!
We arrived the day before we sailed, stayed at the Embassy, then drove to the port in the morning.
We walked around, enjoying the sights, smells, and shops.
A beautiful place. Would like to return one day.
Had hoped to take a taxi ride around the island. Before the cruise I contacted the taxi company and they assured me they had plenty of accessible taxis. Not to be! We walked around the port, took the water taxi (yes, I could roll easily on and off!) to different parts of Philipsburg.
Could not get off the ship because of a narrow pier, requiring steep steps angled from the bottom of the ramp.
