I went on this trip as a quick getaway with my significant other. We nearly missed the ship after a three hour flight delay due to a mechanical failure on the plane. We prepurchased transfers to the port from the cruise line and made it onto the last bus to the cruise terminal. Embarkation was a breeze because 99.9% of the other passengers were already onboard. Only one other family boarded after us. We dropped our luggage and headed to the Windjammer, only to have them announce the muster drill as soon as we sat down with out food.
The ship is much smaller compared to Royal's other ships. We knew this before booking, but still found it a bit underwhelming. Many of the public areas had obviously been renovated, but others still had a dated early 90s feel. Everything was very clean and well maintained.
The cabin was tiny compared to others I've seen. You could only walk around the bed on one side, so my partner had to crawl over me whenever he got up in the night. It was sufficient for two people, but any more would be a tight squeeze. The bathroom looked very clean, but at times seemed to have a stale plumbing smell. We could never quite figure out where it was coming from. It seemed to get better as the cruise went on.
The Miami cruise terminal was nice. We got there so late due to a delayed flight that there was no one else left in line. So I can't comment on the speed of embarkation.
Key west is always nice. We went to the beach and walked around town. The town is easy to walk around and has lots of little nifty shops.
Nassau is really nothing special. We just went to the beach but didn't stay all that long. Expect to be harassed for massages and hair braiding.
