Almost 3 years ago my friends and I took our first VRC to the Netherlands (Tulips & Windmills) to celebrate a milestone birthday I was having. We loved it, so for 2016 we booked another cruise for 2 friends' milestone Bdays, The Bday person gets to pick, and they chose the South of France.

Viking longships are beautiful and so well laid out, and the Delling was no exception. They meet you at the airport, from then until the end of your trip, whether you go from the ship back to the airport, or to another destination that Viking offered. We spent 3 days in Europe post-cruise, and the VRC team had someone at the hotel every day.

Since they source local food, it was exceptionally good! We opted for the Silver Spirits package because we enjoy a couple of cocktails now & then, but if you are happy with beer & wine at meals, it is included.

Cabin Review

Explorer Suite

Cabin ES

We were extremely fortunate (and thrilled to be upgraded from a Veranda Suite to one of the 2 Explorer Suites. I cannot say enough about it. We had stayed in a Veranda Suite our first cruise, and it was wonderful to have the small living room to stretch out in, but this was exquisite. The living room alone is probably the size of a regular cabin, and there are 2 walls of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. The bedroom was a little small, but it didn't matter with all of the other space. All cabins have heated bathroom floors and that it a lovely treat on cool spring & chilly fall mornings.
