We selected the 10 day Viking cruise to allow a full day in Basel, Switzerland and in Amsterdam. Viking Air was also purchased with the cruise package and all airport pickup and drop off arrangements were handled perfectly. The choice and availability of included and optional excursions was excellent and allowed for a customized tour in each port; especially noteworthy was the full day excursion in Amsterdam.

The small size of the Vidar allowed great interaction with the entire boat staff; all were hardworking and very professional. The food for each meal was great with numerous choices available and the wine served daily was wonderful. The Veranda A room was very comfortable and we never felt any river or boat movement during the evening. We sat in the same location for each dinner and become friendly with our waiter, Darwin, who made the trip very enjoyable for us. Our experience and that of other passengers on our boat were all very positive for Viking Cruises. We will plan another Viking cruise within 2 years.
