My family of 4 decided to take this 16 day cruise to the Panama Canal mostly to show the kids a part of history (it was also a great excuse to take a 2 week cruise for Thanksgiving to relax and avoid family drama!!).
This was our first Celebrity Cruise, and we were expecting to be treated list celebrities. It wasn't what we expected, and the cruise started off a little rough, but after the first couple of days, everything got a lot smoother. Our room steward was amazing. Our kids were across the hall, and their room steward was terrible, however, our room steward, George, took over many if the duties that my kids steward was missing.
In the first couple days of the cruise, we were not able to get bottled water at dinner, and much of their wine was unavailable. We were told it was due to an inspection the ship had in San Diego, and they were unable to find many of their supplies. This was unacceptable, in our opinion. We paid for the drink package, and we were not able to get bottled water or good wine at dinner. After the first couple of days, things got much better. The service at our dining table was top notch, and the head waiter made my kids feel very special.
Our cabin was nice, a perfect size for two people. We really liked the fact that the balcony door stayed open.
The storage was great for a cruise ship; plenty of hangers, some drawers and space under the bed for suitcases.
The bed and bedding was very comfortable, but the best thing about our room was our room steward, George. George has worked for Celebrity for 17 years and really did his job well. He was always making sure we had everything we needed in our cabin, as well as in our kids cabin who had a different steward.
We did not like this port very much. The people didn't seem to like us very much here.
Pretty rocks!!
