This is our 3rd cruise and 2nd cruise in 2 years on a carnival ship with our extended family of 10 (8 adults and 2 four year olds.) Last year we cruised on the Victory and this year on the Magic. The Magic is much more updated than the Victory and we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Magic.

We flew from the Midwest via Allegiant airlines into Sanford/Orlando airport. We came a night early and stayed in a hotel in Sanford (I can't remember which hotel it was.) The hotel was nice and in the morning we had a shuttle take us to the Port. We arrived around 11 and were able to embark quickly with little to no waiting. My only complaint about embarkation is that I had a hard time understanding the lady who was helping us but I was in a hurry to get on the ship and catch up with family. I forgot that they don't put your room number on your sign and sail card (blonde moment!) and handed over my paper work to my father who organized the trip. Later when we were ready to go to our room I had no idea what our room number was because I was in such a hurry. We had to go find him on the ship and get our room number.

Ship: Most of the ship has been updated and it is very nice. It was clean and most of the staff we interacted with were friendly and upbeat. My daughter was very thrilled with the waterpark and slides on the ship. I think she went down the slides 30 times one day. I went down each slide once and that's all I really needed. You can get some good speed going down the slides, sometimes too much for me :)

Cabin 4F

Our cabin was nice. The beds were comfy and the room service team kept our room very clean.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Embarkation was fast and easy.

Cozumel

We just did a shopping day and relaxed on this port. There is no beach close and the public beach looked very rocky and uninviting. We took a carriage ride for an hour around the town and such. It cost us $85 for 3 adults and 2 kids. Make sure you agree on a price before you get in the carriage and make sure you have the exact amount as they will not have change.

Costa Maya

Nice port. We just walked around, shopped and used the free to use pools. The pools were ok, could have been a little cleaner.

Roatan

We took the flying chairs to the beach. ($14 each for adults.) Totally worth the money to ride this and get to see the ocean from above. Got some great pictures. The beach was nice. If you want to be right on the water with a chair make sure you reserve one in advance. They do have free to use chairs which are further back from the water. We used those and were close to Fat Tuesday and the rest rooms. We snorkeled and played in the sand and water. It started to rain a bit and we took the chairs back to the shopping area. Shopped a bit and made our way back to the ship.
