We were a little apprehensive about the age of this ship when we booked especially after being on the Allure of the Seas which is very modern. But we were pleasantly surprised when we boarded at the interior design of the ship especially the the Schooner bar area and the leisure area just through the Schooner bar. Very elegant and comfortable. This was a very relaxing cruise. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. The bedrooms looked a wee bit tired but comfortable. We found that the shows in the theatre were mediocre, the one we liked most was the Violin musician. having said that we did like the singer in the Pub ( Kevin ). We found that some of the islands would not be on our itinerary again, like St. Kitts or Dominica which were very a bit like slums in the port area. All in all the cruise was excellent and we certainly will cruise with Royal Caribbean for our next cruise.

Tired, Smallish, but still comfortable.

Port Reviews

Tortola

We did not take a tour of the Island, but we did have a really nice time in the port area exploring the capital itself and admiring the how well kept it is.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We intended to take a tour with one of the independant operators, but after looking around the port area and the way it appeared which was very run down and getting pestered by the touts plying for trade we decided to go back on board We did not like this Venue.

Dominica

As with the Island of St. Kitts we found this place to be even worse. More touts and certainly more slums. A definit no no

St. John (U.S.V.I.)

This island has more to and see and the port area was welcoming. The independent tour operator was good and took us to a beautiiful small restuarant on a lovely quiet beach. Good.

St. Maarten

When you disembark on this island it give you all the thoughts you have about what a Caribbean Island would look like. A gorgeous port that is full of colour with private yachts, stunning beaches, very clean and tidy and good beach side cafes. would love to go back to this island and explore it more. we were so pleased with port area we decided to stay there for the rest of the day. Excellent.
