Sail Date: Jan 2017
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Wanted to try the latest & largest cruise ship to visit Australia.

As a regular Royal Caribbean cruiser I have been on Vision class, Radiance class & Voyager class ships multiple times so can offer a fair comparison between them & the Quantum class in this review.

The boarding process at the OPT worked well, new tablet check in worked well, some minor confusion as to the priority boarding for Diamond & above loyalty members but was sorted out by a quick clarification from senior staff & we boarded at around 11am.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

Excellent layout, lots of storage, large bed, mattresses are new so firm - ask for mattress topper if you like softer. Bathroom all good but compact like all cruise ships in this cabin category.

Port Reviews

Auckland

Took the local green line bus out to Ponsenby Rd, lots of nice shops & a good way to see the sights, also did the maritime museum at the dock - was nice but not extra exciting for me as I like old ships & there was a lot more in there about the modern yachts & Americas cup etc.

Tauranga

caught local bus to Fernlands Mineral Spa pool, pleasant & away from the crowds.
