We chose the cruise as we wanted to learn more about the wines from Bordeaux. We had also seen advertisements for Viking River Cruises and heard positive things about them. We liked the tours offered and the opportunities to learn about the wine and the fascinating region of Bordeaux.
Our cabin was nice and our balcony would have been nice had we truly been able to use it--a waste of the extra charge. We spent 2 days in Bordeaux rafted up to another boat with no view--unless you like looking into the neighboring ships curtains or occasionally the stateroom! Then in one of the other ports we were looking at a concrete wall. We had one sail day during the day that was enjoyable but we spent it on the deck with our friends. Most of the other sailing was at night.
We loved the crew and the service was amazing!!! Our meals were good and the dinner at the Chateau was a real treat. The tours were wonderful and the Program Director extremely energetic and knowledgeable. The onboard "lectures"/demonstrations were very informative and fun. The tour of the market was amazing with lots of extras to eat and drink!!

The bathroom was very nice--room and storage for toiletries! Better than most cruise ships. The bedroom was normal for most cruise ships.
