We chose Oceania because of the itinerary and the reviews I had read. From all reports, it is for "foodies". With that, I set my expectations pretty high and unfortunately I was disappointed. I have cruised on several lines and found food on other ships just as good. I have always rated a cruise on the kitchen's ability to make a good eggs benedict. I would rate the ones on the Riveria as only a 3 out of 10. Eggs were overcooked, the ham was like cardboard and the hollandaise sauce was less than stellar. On a plus what I will say is that the size of the ship with only 1250 passengers was a nice plus. Easy to embark and disembark in the various ports. The furnishings were top notch and clean. As previous reviews pointed out, the entertainment was almost non-existent. The staff in the dining room and Terrace buffet were slow to do the fundamentals like fill your water glass. The bar staff were great. The specialty restaurants were included in the price. Jacques was loud and crowded and because of the experience, we cancelled Polo and Toscana. We kept Red Ginger because of the reviews and it was excellent. The balcony statement rooms are roomy and kept clean by the staff. The beds are amazing and comfortable. The bathroom had a bathtub and walk-in shower.
Ports of call were good with only two days at sea. We had to tender in St. Barts and Dominican Republic. Many passengers stayed on board so the tender process went fairly well.
Roomy and clean. Beds are very comfortable.
