First of all, I am not new to cruising, I usually cruise Carnival (platinum) but have sailed once on NCL before, their Hawaiian cruise. I expected much more.

Cabin: The inside cabin was so tiny. We couldn't open our closet fully. I had to open one door, stand inside, then open the other door to pull our clothes out carefully, it faced the foot of our bed. The television was in a corner little cutout area and you had to lay on your left side in bed to see it. The only other seat in the room was a small stool in front of a vanity in the corner area with poor lighting. The worse part was that there was cold air blowing out of the only vent in the room over our bed! The thermostat on the wall made no difference in temp or air flow. We called guest services who said they couldn't have maintenance come until we got out of the gulf area as they were all busy but they could come around 10:00 pm. At 11:00 pm I called again and they finally sent someone who opened the cover above our bed and closed the vent. Now we had no air and all night we were hot. The next day, I called and they sent someone who opened the vent more, but we still could not control by thermostat. Then, I went down to guest services and requested a different inside room, but they sent yet a different person came who adjusted it again after that. We were told then that the unit we had was different from the rest on that floor. Guest services knew I was upset as I had tears in my eyes and they sent us a bottle of Merlot and strawberries. But we don't drink Merlot and I gave the bottle away to a lady in the auditorium that evening as I didn't want to waste it. The unit ran 100% of the time the rest of the cruise and I started taking allergy pills due to my sneezing which was unusual. We just let it go but were disappointed to say the least. The mattress was hard and I am not a picky person about that but I had to take Advil in the pm and am due to back pain.

Casino: Very disappointing. Very tight slots. Not very crowded at night which should've been a clue. I am a big penny slot gambler usually getting my cruises lost cost from Carnival. I saw low, if any winnings when I was in the casino. But I couldn't afford to be in there long, lol. You could charge to your room but at a price, free on Carnival. I did not charge to room which was probably a good thing. My husband plays quarters and machines extremely limited for that. In fact, he did not find one he wanted to play. No 4 screen machines which was surprising. Also, some very old ones. Not a good variety.
