My husband and I flew up the day ahead of embarcation to Seattle from Santa Rosa, CA.  That allowed us to go to Pike Market (fun) and to the Space Needle on Friday. The Bistro by the Space Needle is a nice place to have a light dinner. The weather was just great. The Mediterranean in the Queen Anne district (where we stayed) has a wonderful roof deck. We enjoyed having a cocktail up there while watching the ferries go to and fro.

Next morning we decided to get to the port early and see if we could board early.  An ll:00 AM cab got us to the port by 11:10.  Check in at the Seattle Princess port was unbelievably fast!!!  We were in our room by 11:40.  Dropped off our bags and proceeded to check out the ship.  This was our third Princess cruise.  We have sailed on the Diamond and the Sapphire.  The Golden is very much like both of these ships and we felt that we got the layout down pretty quickly.

Did I mention that the weather in Seattle was warm?  The whole week of the cruise was very warm.  The only exception during the week was while sailing down the Endicott Fjord.  Brrrrr.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

Aloha 314  Room has a smaller balcony, but is completely covered.  This is a good feature for those times when it might be raining and would make the balcony unusable.  Room seems to have been right under the Horizon Court deck area.  Lots of chair scraping noises throughout the day and evening.  Close enough to elevator banks to get around.  Next cruise our room choice would be mid-ship, mid-deck.
