We wanted to see that part of the world where the Danube flows. We loved our room, food, the tours and especially the warm and friendly crew. We can't say enough to compliment these fantastic people or Viking. They thought of everything for our pleasure, comfort and entertainment. The tours were informative, bringing you to a time in history that you only read about. All of the tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and added humor, and personal information that history books don't reveal. It made you feel you could understand how some of the people felt during that point in time.
We took in the Straus, Mozart concert in Vienna and loved it!!! There were so many things that we loved about the whole experience. I hope to take another Viking cruise one day to experience another part of the world, or perhaps, go back to the Danube once more. It may not be blue as the song says, but the romance and beauty of that river is so special and is something one cannot forget!
The entertainment in the lounge at night was so much fun! I loved sailing at night, being in the lounge, dancing to the wonderful songs that, Peter, our entertainer, played on the piano, all the while soaking in the beauty of the lights that glistened on the Danube as we floated past the beautiful cities. So magical!!!!!
The cabin was spacious, super clean and comfortable. I loved looking out the window and seeing the towns, and locks that we passed through.
Budapest was outstanding in beauty, culture, entertainment, and of course, food!
We stayed to nights at the Buda Hilton which was a beautiful hotel with great service, super comfortable bed, and food. I loved touring on our own in that fantastic part of the city. We saw a Picasso exhibit and experienced the feast of St. Steven. Loved it!
