My girlfriend and I (both 21) just returned a few weeks ago from our five night Western Carribean cruise with ports of call in Key West, Cozumel, and Belize City. This was my fourth cruise and my girlfriend's third, but our best yet. This was our first trip together so it was certainly different from those in the past, but everything was absolutely perfect! The ship is one of the smaller megaships, but there is certainly no shortage of ship to explore. The service is phenomenal! The food ranges from mediocre to very good, with a few items hitting the excellent level (e.g. lobster)! The room was small but comfortbale (interior on the second deck). The entertainment was entertaining to say the least, and the pool deck was always lively. Finally, there were always things to do!DAY ONE:EMBARKATION: Very smooth. We arrived at the terminal at around 10:15 a.m. and got checked in right away. We waited for about a half hour afterwards and were onboard at around 11 a.m. The ship was empty at this time and it looked like they were still setting up for us. Nonetheless, we used the extra time onboard to explore and take pictures. We went straight to the main dining room to ask that we be sitting just the two of us, instead of at a table for eight like we were originally assigned. I'm sure the larger table would have been fun, but we just wanted a nice dinner the two of us. At first they said that they could not accommodate our request, but a few hours later we got a call saying that they were able to get us a table for two! After the dining room, we went to the Windjammer for lunch. The selection was mediocre, but I am not a picky eater and always found tasty things to eat. Later, we laid by the pool enjoying frozen drinks all afternoon. We watched the ship sail away in its first few moments leaving Fort Lauderdale (my favorite part) and went to get ready for the night's show and then dinner/The first night's show was a comedian. He was decent. Dinner the first night was very good. The food and service was a bit below what I am used to on Royal Carribean that first night, but it got much better later on and actually exceeded expectations! After dinner we did some dancing, checked out the Viking Crown Lounge (where they would not let me bring a beer onto the dance floor!), and then hit the hot tub for a late night swim.DAY TWO: Key West, FLWe got up pretty early (all things considered) and had breakfast in the Windjammer. The food selection for breakfast is always the same; I had an egg white omelette everydaythey were okay. Then we headed off the ship for our excursionthe White Knuckle Thrill Boat Ride. This was an excellent excursion! We originally were not going to do an excursion in this port, but this one looked really fun so we booked it. They take you on a short bus ride and then onto a small boat that fits about ten people. The boat went really fast through the Gulf of Mexico, and we got to see several different islands. This is a family run business, and our captain was very nice and informative. The boat does lots of spins and tricks and gets up to really high speeds. After we were done, we had a drink onshore and then headed back to the ship.Went back to the pool, ate lunch, drank, showered, casino, and dinner. Extremely exhausted after only a day and a half!DAY THREE: Cozumel, MexicoBest excursion of the tripPassion Island Escape. It is a bit pricy ($75 a person), but it includes lunch and an open bar (which is somewhat limited but still good). The beach was absolutely beautiful and everyone was in the water the whole time. They had hammocks, a water trampoline, some other floatation devices, and canoes. The sand was so soft and the water felt like bathwater. The only bad part was that we only had about three hours at the beach. It took about an hour to get to the island by boat. Still, great time.Tonight was Chops Grill. AMAZING FOOD! Totally worth the $25 a person. My only regret is that I ordered an excessive amount of food not realizing that the portions are much larger in Chops. I could barely finish my filet mignon, but I did finish the chocolate cake! Shrimp cocktail, caesar salad, and other miscellaneous appetizers were fantastic. Service was great too.

DAY FOUR: Belize City, Belize

We chose to do a Private Island Beach Break (Bannister Island) instead of going to the mainland. This was a wise choice. Apparently Belize is not the nicest of locations, and the private island was just what we wanted! It was crowded, but they gave you a free rum punch ticket and use of water floats (which were hard to come by because it was so crowded). The beach was very nice, but not as nice as Passion Island. I highly recommend this excursion if you just want to relax on the beach. My girlfriend went to the spa while I gambled, ate, and drank! She loved the spa and I won some money! Another great night at dinner as well.DAY FIVE: Sea DayPlayed in a ping pong tournament (which I lost in the first round), ate breakfast, then went to the pool. Then we experienced our only few hours of bad weather as we passed through a thunder storm and the pool deck cleared. We went to the casino for awhile and then to the covered Solarium pool. Dinner was lobster night where I ate FIVE lobsters! We were sad to leave, but this was such an amazing time I have no regrets.
