My family cruised on the Disney Wonder along with extended family in November 2002.  My daughter was only 2 at that time, and we made a decision to return one day when she could enjoy it more.  She is now 9 and this was a trip we had spent years planning for.  We had a great time.Do as much planning before the trip as possible, and take advantage of every opportunity to fill out paperwork before your trip.  We had a "Land/Sea" vacation through Disney and spent 3 days at the Disney Beach Club Resort at Disney World prior to our cruise.  There was a message on our room phone suggesting we visit the Cruise representative in the lobby to finalize our check-in process for the cruise.  It took about five minutes as I had already done as much work online as was allowed and had that paperwork with me.  Doing this allowed my family to literally bypass ALL the lines at Port Canaveral and walk directly to where we had our pictures made for ID purposes.  They associated those pictures with the Key to the World cards that we had first received at the Beach Club Resort as room keys.  Those same cards became our room keys for the ship cabin.  I have never boarded a cruise ship faster than this experience. We followed advice we read here and ate our first lunch at Parrot's Cay rather than the Beach Blanket Buffet on deck nine.  Not crowded at Parrot's Cay and a buffet there with many delicious choices.Be sure to pack swimsuit and anything else you may need since your luggage will arrive later in the afternoon... even one at a time.If you love Disney, and have kids, this is the perfect cruise.  Things are set up so well for families, and all restaurants have options for picky eaters.  Service was wonderful, without exception.  I began to get tired of hearing every (and I mean every) employee greet my daughter with "Hello Princess" but SHE never did!  Ha!Our room hostess made a real effort to get to know my whole family and always took time to speak to my daughter about her experiences on the ship.  She even named us a Magical Guest at one point, providing some extras in our room that we really appreciated. Our servers were also wonderful and made every effort to make sure we were pleased.  Occasionally we couldn't decide on an entree and enjoyed the cruise experience where you can have... two!  Same with dessert!  Nice...Even the on-board shop employees were great.  One engaged my daughter in a friendly Disney trivia exchange as she purchased her items.  The next morning we found a nice certificate under our cabin door where he had named her as an "Outstanding Disney Trivia-er", another example of how the employees are given opportunities to do special things for guests to make their vacation "magical."We did the Sea Lion Encounter at Nassau.  The only negative is the 30 minute shuttle boat ride to the far side of the island to Blue Lagoon Island.  Even though we had a morning time for our session this chewed up more of the day on Nassau than we had anticipated.Castaway Cay continues to be delightful, and I saw some changes from our previous trip in 2002.  We were able to select some chairs under an umbrella AND some palm trees and had great shade throughout the day.  We did the Stingray feeding on this island.  Disney has lots of construction going on at Castaway Cay.  We were told that is in anticipation of the two new Disney ships set to begin sailing in the coming years.  (The construction is off to the side and in no way interfered with enjoying the island.)We had a category 8 stateroom with no balcony, only a large porthole window.  We didn't miss the balcony.  Disney staterooms tend to be slightly larger, and Disney accommodated my daughter's desire to sleep in the pull down berth rather than the sofa bed.  She was in heaven.  There are two bathrooms; one with a sink and toilet and another with a sink and tub/shower.  That really makes it nice when the family is trying to get ready!  There is also a fridge in the cabin but I don't think we ever used it.My daughter enjoyed Oceaneers Lab but really enjoyed being (nine years old and) able to check herself out when she wanted to join us.  This way she could really pick and choose which activities she wanted to enjoy with other kids and when she just wanted some family time.We ate breakfast at the Beach Blanket Buffet each morning, lunch wherever we happened to be located, and the evening meals in the dining areas.  We enjoyed them all.Outside the Beach Blanket Buffet on deck nine is the famous drink station where soda is free, plus ice for your drinks or mugs. The evening shows, as has been repeated in these reviews, are NOT to be missed.  Easily the best shows on any cruise line I have ever sailed with.  This would include the Walt Disney Theater itself, as it becomes "part of the show" on occasion! One final observation: we saw many families with young children, preschool age, even some infants that might have been six months old.  Our hearts went out to the parents as they were constantly attending to their young childrens' needs and moods, plus all the "equipment" that goes with traveling with youngsters.  Our daughter was only two on our first voyage, a family reunion trip.  She was still taking naps at that age and admits she remembers very little of the trip.  We feel that she was a perfect age this summer... still enchanted by all the Disney characters and atmosphere and able to fully enjoy and remember this special vacation.  Plus, she is able to fend for herself and "roll with the changes" that often come with big trips.  A Disney vacation is not inexpensive and we're happy our whole family was able to enjoy and treasure this trip.Leaving the ship was as painless as boarding had been.  Disney's Magical Express ensured that our checked baggage was picked up outside our cabin the evening of our last night on board.  The next time we saw them was in our airport at home.  We ate breakfast in Parrot's Cay (the location of our previous evening meal) and then walked right off the ship... through customs (effortless)... past the luggage awaiting pickup by guests with other travel arrangements... and onto the bus that would take us to the Orlando airport.  Could not have been easier!
