First Viking literature said they use a pre-cruise hotel a five minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. Our hotel was on the very edge of Paris in a residential area. They sent us information about a tour they would give us of 12 of the top sites of Paris stopping to see four of them. They offered us a leader lead tour by subway to one site not in the top 20.

The first day on the boat they said there would be transportation to Paris. Viking took us to the boat and when we got there they said the tour to Paris had already left so we missed it. Our room was a French balcony. It had almost no floor space. They only place to sit was on the bed or a vanity stool that when pulled out blocked the only aisle to get around the room. The bed with the comforter on was within 8 inches of the wall on one side and less than 8 inches when the curtain was pulled on the other side. The room would be OK for one person, but not two people.

As for the meals, there were not enough servers. The first few days the servers actually ran back and forth to the kitchen and still we never finished eating before 9:30 pm. The servers put turned over glasses on several tables saying we could not sit on those tables in order to pack us in so they would have less tables. People couldn't always sit with the people with whom they were traveling since they wanted every seat at the open tables filled.
