My husband and I and brother and sister-in law took a lovely River Cruise down the Rhine on the Viking Ship Alruna. We certainly enjoyed the ship, the staff aboard and the wonderful food! We were in a lower deck cabin and was very roomy and certainly enjoyed the heated bathroom floor. We enjoyed all of the ports and shore excursions. We always looked forward to coming back on board: we were welcomed back so enthusiastically by the staff. Our weather was not the best, but the staff accommodated us with umbrellas and warm drinks whenever they could. It was a wonderful week!! Upon arrival in Amsterdam, the staff offered us a walking tour of Amsterdam that was quite unexpected and most appreciated. Since we had such a small amount of time in this embarkation port, it was such a nice touch of Viking to show us around for a few hours before we departed. We have been on other River Cruise lines, but will certainly look to Viking in the future!
