We love Celebrity Solstice Class ships and have cruises on them exclusively for the past 3 years, however we wanted to try their sister brand Azamara's smaller ships. We had read some excellent reviews plus in general reviewers raved about the great crew. So a good opportunity came up on their Singapore to HK cruise and we jumped on it.

Boarding in Singapore was fast and painless. We were greeted with excellent sparkling wine upon boarding the ship and started to explore the ship while we waited the OK to go to our cabin. With the recent upgrades to their ships most things looked new and fresh. We went to the Cafe to get lunch and found the selection limited compared to a larger ship but the quality was very good. We liked the seating because it was aimed at couples or groups of 4. When we got the OK to go to our stateroom we found it to be smaller than what we had on celebrity but quite nice. The storage was not as convenient as on the larger Solsice Class ships but adequate. The bathroom was quite compact but nice. Overall we were pleased with our room. We normally sign up for unlimited Internet to keep in contact for business and friends. The Wifi was good but slower than Celebrity's new Xcelerate.

The restaurants were all quite good. The main dining room ( Discoveries ) was nice and the food was very good. The specialty restaurants ( Prime C and Aqualina ) were both excellent. We loved Prime C for superb steaks, T-Bone, NY, etc. Aqualina had great pasta and small lobster tails plus fish and one steak offering ( small.... ask for two ) which were excellent. However by far our favorite place to eat was the Patio Grill between the pool and the Cafe. More casual, semi-outdoors but covered and great food. A more limited menu but we loved what they had to offer.

Club Veranda Stateroom

Cabin V2

Small but quite nice. Tiny shower and bathroom but updated and nice. Great bed and pillows. Nice large TV right in front of the bed. Mini-bar had soft drinks for free but alcoholic beverages in the room were an added cost. We found 7032 to be very quiet but a lot depends on your neighbors. Nice to have a DIY laundry center down the hall.

Port Reviews

Koh Samui

Flooding and we could not stop.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

We had been there many times and went to Wat Suthat which was beautiful and almost deserted ..... no tourists. Great for photos.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

The ship docked within the city and provided a free shuttle to the old town where all the main attractions were. We did a walking tour by ourselves. Nice day.
