We took this New Year's Cruise with our granddaughters . It was a great getaway from work and winter.
Embarkment was very fast and smooth. Our room was ready when we got on board about 12 noon. Kids couldn't wait to get in the pool and made friends really fast.
This was our 4th cruise with Holland America and it was a lot younger crowd than we usually see , more diversified like Royal Caribbean. It being during holidays brought on more families . Food was good . Ate in main dining room and buffet mostly. Did the pizza once. It wasn't to my liking but Dh did.

Room as fairly large family room. Not enough places for luggage after unpacking but we made do. They have done away with drawer in vanity . I missed it greatly. The couch let out into single bed and one dropped from above. That one was use one night only. I got claustrophobia from it hanging down over our heads.
Port Reviews
Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
Beautiful day. Kids loved the small water slides. I saw several fish and walked down to see the sting rays. Very laid back place .
Grand Cayman (Georgetown)
Took public bus to Turtle farm . Will definitely go back again. Great family fun.
Cozumel
Hop on / Hop off bus . Looked around and walked around cruise port area. Also did the aquarium.
Half Moon Cay
Loved it. Great day.
