My wife and I have cruised more than a dozen times over the past 8 years - mostly Carnival, but a few Norwegian as well-, so I would say we are seasoned cruisers. We appreciate little extra amenities, but, sadly, are bothered when we feel like we are treated unfairly or irritating preventable things go wrong. Instead of going day by day, I'd like to give a good / bad summary...
First the GOOD...
+Carnival has unveiled an intranet application for your phone that does not require an outside internet connection. It covers events, has ship maps, etc. and will be real fun when it is fleshed out. For a small fee ($5) you can message others with the app around the ship.
The cabin was fine, though very close to the bow. The rough seas and location of the cabin added up to a rocky ride most nights. For example, if you're a side-sleeper, the rolling of the ship could wake you up of make you feel you are falling out of bed. If you cruise in early January, better to book a room mid-ship! According to a bartender I spoke with, this happens every January.
Very aggressive salespeople got a little irritation, but we did find some one-of-a-kind souveniers. Must BARGAIN everywhere!
Pancho's Backyard. Food and relaxing on the beach!
No excursion, but the boarding process was the best and fastest ever in 12 cruises. Great job!
