Returned today from MSC Magnifica. Where do I start.

Embarkation

Flights arranged through MSC. Outbound was OK but transfer to ship was poor. Started to board ship around 11am. Embarkation had hardly any info about what to do once onboard. Was ushered through the 'system' and eventually got onboard where security picture was taken. Then ushered further down the deck to be accoustomed by staff trying to sell drinks packages. We already prepaid for an all inclusive drinks package, and just wanted a drink after our long trip. Nobody was interested about telling us how to get 1 without having to pay. Was eventually told after an hour that our cruise cards were on the bed in the cabin, which were not available until 2.30, but could go and get them as the door to the cabins were open. Picked up cruise cards and got a drink.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

Cabin a bit smaller than we are used too. Small balcony. Bed very comfortable. No double glazing on balcony doors. Very drafty.

Port Reviews

Malta (Valletta)

Walk to Valletta from Port

Athens (Piraeus)

Took local bus to Athens. City tour waste of time

Limassol

Took bus to town, not much to see

Crete (Heraklion)

Walked to town with a bonus of a Grand Prix with supercars

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Walked to town, not much to see. Trips to Rome too expensive and a long day
