Background Information - We love Royal Caribbean, having cruised with them many times. This cruise was, overall, another wonderful experience. We've taken this ship and itinerary before, as it suits us for a quick get-away before I start back to work after the new year.

Travel To Port of Embarkation - Since we live northeast of Dallas and the cruise departs from Galveston, we made the 5 hour drive the night before.

Hotel Info - Got a good deal at the Hilton for "stay and cruise" package, so it included parking. However, they didn't tell us the parking was not in the Hilton lot. Much confusion about how the package worked. We arrived at 5 PM and were told that the shuttles were booked until 2 PM the next day. Finally they agreed to let us board a shuttle from the Holiday Inn (they share the same shuttle service) at 10:30 AM on cruise day.

Cabin Review

Promenade Stateroom

Cabin PR

This was our second time in a Promenade stateroom. We have always had a balcony stateroom, but the Promenade serves us just fine. We rarely stay in the stateroom anyway, but when we are there it is nice to open the window and look down on the "shoppers" in the Royal Promenade. Our cabin steward, Raphael, was one of the best we've had. We like the location just past the elevators.
