Overall we greatly enjoyed our experience on the Koningsdam. The ship is beautiful and our stateroom, VB category, Deck 4, #4022 was excellent including the extended balcony which was marvelous (partially covered, partially uncovered). The musicians, dancers and singers on the cruise were fantastic including those performing in the World Stage, Lincoln Centre Stage and BB King Band in the Queen's lounge. The comedian and magician were disappointing and predictable. Five O'Clock Somewhere was fantastic.
The Grand Dutch Cafe was an extra treat as well as the Gelato and New York Deli. The vegetarian burger was a portabello mushroom and was about less than half of the size of the bun.
The negatives were the setup and service style in the Lido. No trays, only 2 hands and small plates. Lido was chaotic which was unfortunate. By the time you visited the food stations, collected your items from the station servers which normally meant more than one plate because they don't like to combine items on the same plate, and then found an available table, the food was often cold. It was also difficult to locate condiments.
Lovely stateroom with very large extended balcony. No complaints whatsoever other than the angle of the toilet which meant your knees may touch the shower door.
Beach day and we love it!
