12 night extended family cruise with 6 of us in 3 staterooms on Caribe Deck.
The Diamond Princess is a lovely ship and seemed very well maintained. As always the staff are magnificent providing excellent service. A younger cruise for Princess with an average age probably around 45 comprised of about 50% Australian, 25% Russian and the rest of the world making up the other 25%.
Highlights for us was the evening meals - usually in the Savoy Restaurant with anytime dining. The anytime dining restaurants seemed to peak around 8pm so we chose to eat earlier at 6:30pm and got very nice window tables and got to know our regular waiters Albert and Atesh. We usually had four course meals (you can have as many courses as you want) which were mostly excellent and beautifully presented. We had drinks packages so had wine by the glass and a cognac to finish. We splashed out sometimes on things like Veuve Champagne (at 40% off made it priced pretty reasonably).
Highest category balcony before mini suite level. Centre of ship with large balcony.
Comfortable without being luxurious. Everything functioned well and with 3 staterooms in a row we were able to open up the dividers and created a big space. The rooms are amazingly quiet!
Really don't why they stop here unless it is to re provision. Keland is 90 minutes from KL
Pleasant but not much to do.
HOHO bus is superb and is right at the cruise terminal.
Great seeing the islands
Been there before - be careful of traffic if you are going out on your own.
