This is my 8th cruise, and my 2nd cruise with Norwegian. I was very excited to be going on such a large ship. Unfortunately this was not a great ship due to its layout. Despite being huge, it felt very small. Other than the theater, there were very few large, open spaces. Even the outside pool decks felt small and crowded. Particularly a lot of events occurred in the Atrium, but if you wanted to attend and actually have a seat you need to get there a half hour early because the space was just so small.

The entertainment was fantastic, though. We saw Rock of Ages on board. I'm a avid theater goer and can see this is easily in the top 3 best shows I've ever seen on stage. The cast was perfect! We also saw the circus show, which was good, but probably not worth the extra cost (You pay over $40 per person to go, which includes dinner, but you have no choice in dinner, everyone gets the same things so you better like it!). The performance was okay but not a great value.

Some of the smaller bars had some good musical entertainment as well. We especially loved Howl at the Moon, and spent most nights jamming with those guys.

Cabin Review

Family Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin O1

We were sailing on the cheap, so we had five people packed into the stateroom. It actually worked out pretty well. They do need to include some electrical outlets, though. Had to get creative in order to plug in a CPAP machine for sleeping.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

This is a surprisingly easy port to get in and out of, despite its location. We just drive right in and park right next to the boat. Parking is a bit steep ($40/day) but worth it in the long run.
