Sail Date: Jan 2017

We are second timers with the Celebrity line sailing on the Jan 7 port intensive trip visiting Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, St Maarten, and St Thomas. We were on the 2nd floor in an ocean view cabin and ate in all 3 specialty restaurants; we did not go to the shows based on prior reviews, and also based on the fact that the broadway level entertainment on RC's Oasis of the Seas a few years ago has spoiled us forever.

I was looking forward to meeting this rockstar Captain Kate but she was on vacation, apparently returning later this month (January). However I really enjoyed Captain Alex and his sense of humour and specifically, his very informative twice daily announcements.

We arrived at 11am for embarkation and had to wait for a half hour before the doors opened. Once in, we didn't have to wait much until we were processed and on the ship. Disembarkation seemed above average for being civilized and orderly, and actually ahead of schedule. There were only two lines for customs when we left midway through the exodus and the lineup extended the length of the warehouse, but we got through it in a respectable half hour. Once outside the terminal, we had a taxi immediately despite two ships in the same port and more were lined up a mile outside. $23 USD to the airport, and we paid $30 for a nice tip.
