We chose this cruise as we have had positive experiences with HAL, liked the itinerary, and wanted to try a new ship. We were a mixed group - two teens (16,17), my partner and myself (50,52) and my mom 83- this was her 36th cruise. I cannot underscore enough- this trip was an unparalleled success. Perfect!! We booked another Koningsdam adventure for March- 10 days, Southern Caribbean. The next two months cannot go fast enough!

I was deeply concerned to read the numerous negative reviews before we took this trip. I'm sad that so many people missed the beauty of this grand ship, did not appreciate the excellent service, overlooked the incredible selection of dining choices included in the fare (main dining room- AWESOME, Lido Market Place- best we have ever experienced, Dive In- oh my- one of the best burgers ever, NY Deli pizza, wings- impressive). We even have to rave about the room service- best club sandwich I have ever had. When reading the reviews, especially ones now being posted for our sailing, I'm shocked that these guests are talking about the Koningsdam.

The staff are top notch. Always greeted us with a smile, gracious, positive, cheerful and attentive. No exceptions. The ship is impeccable- hand wash stations upon entry to the Lido Marketplace, sanitizers, cloth towels in the public rest rooms.
