We flew to San Juan from Newark, NJ in the morning and immediately went to the port to board the ship.  The weather in San Juan was extremely hot and humid, coming from NJ where it rained almost continuously for a month we were not acclimated to the heat.  The embarkation was extremely unorganized, there were no signs, English or Spanish to tell you what line you are waiting on.  After waiting almost an hour on a line, we found out it was to check luggage, which we had already done, we were not happy to know we could have gone right inside and skipped the time in the sweltering heat.  The rest of the embarkation was quick and went smoothly, although they should tell you what they will need at each line so you aren't holding documents you don't need or fishing for documents you put away.Of course when you finally get on the ship there is the photographer who wants to take a picture of you when you are all hot, sweaty and your mascara is running halfway down your face. Our party consisted of me and my husband and our 15 year old son.  We booked rather late and could not get a suite, so we got two adjoining outside rooms instead, which actually worked out well, it was large enough with the two rooms and the two bathrooms were a plus.  We were on the second deck and hardly felt any ship motion but that deck doesn't go all the way through because of a conference room, which can be a pain sometimes. The dining room meals were good to excellent, we had an extremely nice waiter from Croatia, who really wanted to do a good job and did not rush us and learned what we liked with dinner so we didn't have to ask after a while.  The assistant waitress was equally as nice. Our cabing steward was friendly and did a great job keeping the cabin clean without being a pain, I have been on other cruises with a migraine and had the stewards knocking on the door constantly to clean the room, this guy did not come to the room unless the make up room sign was up.The buffet food was typical buffet, there was always fresh fruit and vegetables, and snacks available either at the buffet, on the promenade or through room service (there is a charge after midnight)The only problem with our rooms was there was mechanical noises some nights and if we hadn't gotten adjoining rooms, I would have gone nuts listening to the people in the other room, you can hear everything and even see lights from the other room. The entertainment was the usual cruise fare, I did actually win a bingo for the first time.  My husband and I like to play trivia and we were luckly enough to meet another couple who were great players so we played as a team for all the trivia games and won about 4 games.  I also one a complete the lyrics game, which was fun.  The Quest game show was a riot, kind of a scavenger hunt/game show, you have to see to believe, and it's hard not to get caught up in the fun of the show. All in all I would recommend this ship and itinerary very highly.
