I really try not to be negative when on vacation, since there's no point to getting caught up in frustrations, but this NCL cruise was not up to par. The highlights were the buffet, the crew service, and comfortable rooms/beds.
This was my husband's first cruise and he was very nervous. So, we arrived right as embarkation had begun. This meant we arrived at the peak of chaos. We paid about $100 for the 5 nights to use valet service. There are a couple of off site parking companies that would have cost closer to $40 for the same length trip. But, we paid for convenience and didn't regret it.
We allowed a porter to check our luggage and then had to hike to the end of the line. There was very little info about where to go or what to do. But, we figured out most of it we shuffled slowly for about an hour while sweating. I would recommend waiting until closer to 2 pm if boarding in Tampa in the future.
I was happy with the inside cabin. It wasn't the largest I've been in, but it was comfortable. The shower stall was enclosed nicely with sliding doors and had good water pressure/temp. I also liked that they had a hand soap dispenser at the sink (I had brought my own thinking we'd only have bar soap). I felt comfortable with three people in the room, but wouldn't with the 4th tiny trundle bed in use. There was a good sized table under the TV and a small vanity type table on the opposite side. Ordering flowers seemed to take up the whole thing, so I wouldn't buy them again in that size cabin. The room was almost always quiet, the only noise was from the hallway occasionally, but I suspect the balcony cabins were also subject to that noise. It was almost impossible to hear if announcements were being made without opening the door, so I often missed them.
