We joined the ship in Copenhagen for a four night trip, Copenhagen, Oslo, Sea, Amsterdam. This was a mixed up cruise because people were embarking/disembarking every day. Some guests had been on board for two weeks prior to this. But that didn't make any difference. We have been on plenty of lines, RCL. NCL, Celebrity, P and O, MSC, Cunard, Princess. It is not fair to compare ships as this is over 25 years and times have changed. The Eurodam was smart, classy and clean with enough facilities to occupy us for 4 days. The weather was great, we used both pools. The jacuzzis are small and not very bubbly! The deck chairs were plentiful and towels freely available. We found it extremely difficult to navigate the ship, even though it is not nearly as big as recent ones we have been on. Couldn't get my head round it at all. The corridors are a bit ferry like, (bland and the stairwells are steep). The public rooms  are comfortable and the Rembrandt dining room is spacious, well set out and nice furniture. Our balcony cabin was adequate for two people, but we were three and very cramped, but it was always clean and we never saw the steward. We took any time dining. We called in the morning and booked the time we preferred, sucessfully, all but formal night. We like 7.45 pm, which is in the busy time. Often people were queuing at the door when we walked in. So the day we couldn't book, we went early at 7 pm and got straight in. They use deck 2 for any timers and deck 3 for set sitting. It works very well. The food was exceptional. There were always at least two entrees we really fancied, so twice we asked for one (fish) instead of a first course or salad and then another(meat) as the main. They were obliging and polite about that. Nothing was a problem and the dining room was solidly overviewd by a very good Maitre D'. Wine choice was wide, starting from $25 per bottel (plus 15% service). The Lido was also beyond expectations and others. Try to avoid busiest times (coming into port etc) as lines built up (breakfast) and you need to go from station to staion to get hot, pastries, juices etc. but that was the only thing I can critisise and it simply because there is so much choice. Lunch was excellent. whilst we were there they had a pool buffet for 4th july (I'm sure they find an excuse to do it other times too!) they BBQ'd T bone steaks..proper ones. I have never seen that on a ships buffet before.   The burgers and hot dogs were available nearly all day and were homemade and delicious. Ice cream is also free nearly all the time and is excellent quality. You will put on weight, it is inevitable but every calory was a delight. Cocktails are around $6.50 each, sodas quite cheap. We were lucky with the ports and weather , only one sea day but we would have struggled with more. there is not much entertainment of a non cultural type. We played Pictionary and went to a trivia. The game show Call My Bluff was funny. the two stage shows we saw were passable entertaining but not breathtaking. The Welcome aboard show was cheesy. The disco was dead, karaoke hardly attended. The Piano Bar was the only place swinging, you couldn't get a seat. Not beacuse he was fantastic, but it was the only place to get any kind of atmosphere.I hope this does not sound negative. we had a great few days on the Eurodam and would go back if the cruise suited, for a short break again. For our main holiday we will go bigger, on the RCL Liberty to the Caribbean, but we have a teenage daughter and we want beaches and glitz/ entertainment next time. However we know we will not get the food or service (or probably as nice companions) we enjoyed on the Eurodam.
