Two reasons to go on this cruise - the open bar and the private island.
The drinks are plentiful, the pour is strong, the bartenders hardworking and friendly. The private island - Great Stirrup Cay, is beautiful and was a great day at the beach.
The food in the dining rooms was good. We did not eat at the specialty restaurants. The main buffet was good but the far aft buffet called the Great Outdoors offered the same food as the main buffet but the food was not hot. In fact it was barely warm. Not sure why but this should be fixed. There is a bbq on deck each day at 3:30 PM and we loved that.
Cabins are small but everything worked and the beds were comfortable.
We went to Taino beach. Cab was $14 per person round trip. Beach admission is $3 and they charge $7.50 per beach chair. The beach is clean and there is a bar and a couple of food booths. Freeport was hit hard by Hurricane Matthew but this beach is open at least.
Nassau is a shopping mecca. For us, we took the water taxi ($4 per person each way) over to Paradise Island and had drinks at Margaritaville which is not cheap but is new, clean, good service and a must visit for Parrotheads. It has an open air bar and lots of outside seats on the water.
Took the shuttle from FLL to the cruise terminal ($25 per person one way). Embarkation took about 50 minutes.
The tender lines went quickly and once there, food and drinks are included in the Norwegian Sky package. Great beaches on a protected cove and you can rents float mats and snorkels or jet skis or about anything you want to do. There are several bars and food options. This was just a perfect day at the beach and the reason I will go on this cruise again.
