Carnival is hard to beat when it comes to cost. Cruising on Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival in the past I though I knew what to expect when it came to this short getaway. Don't get me wrong we had a good time but I fear to keep cost down, Carnival is cutting to much when it comes to what is needed for a great trip. For example, even though the ship just came out of dry dock it was hardly noticeable. Carpets were worn in hallways with patches instead of being replaced. Furniture and cabinets in the staterooms are worn and could be refreshed. Also the decks, windows and railings were honorably dirty. It appeared they had not been cleaned in some time. You could not tell if it was sunny or overcast by looking out the windows in all guest areas. With a ship only going into dry dock every four years I hate to imagine what the ship will look like four years from now.

Crew was mostly friendly in exception to the bar staff who would seemed less than excited to be working. I enjoyed all my meals in the main dinning and thought the quality was fine. The Lido deck buffet was extremely repetitive with not many options. The recent addition of barbecue on the second floor was the only positive of this dinning.

I did have an issue with the cleaning staff on the last day. On all the debarkation videos and pamphlets it says please be out of your room by 0830am. My wife and I planned on this and prepared our morning off of this. Starting at 0750am our room attended barged into our room as we were changing asking if we were done yet. I quickly shut the door and told him we were still getting ready. He came back to our room three times between 0750am and 0820am asking if we were done yet. I find this completely rude as we were out of our room by the required time of 0830am. Perhaps Carnival is asking to much from the workers causing them to rush guest out off their rooms before the required time. All in all I had a good time but feel that cost cutting measures by Carnival is now causing a noticeable difference in quality and fun. I think I will spend the extra money on quality next time on a different cruise line.
