I had a great cruise on the Carnival Miracle! We arrived at Long Beach around Noon to board the ship. We had Faster to the Fun, so we were able to skip most of the line boarding the ship. Be warned, if you do not have priority boarding and you arrive around Noon, be prepared to stand in a line for around 90 minutes just to get checked in. If you do have priority boarding, Long Beach does a great job keeping that line very short, if not empty at all times. Walking onto the ship we got our first look at the Atrium, which was beautiful. We then headed for our cabin. Our cabin a good sized, standard balcony cabin. I had been on Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas earlier in the year, and the food was incredible. On this cruise, it was good but the selection and quality did not blow me away (except for the chocolate melting cake). This was my first Carnival cruise, and I had lower expectations coming in than Royal, so I knew everything would not be as great. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of activities to do on the ship. I can understand port days, but even on sea days (especially the last sea day) their was very little to do around the ship, and we found ourselves frequently going back to the cabin throughout the cruise. The service on the ship was good, our room steward was nice, and the bar staff did their best to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. The shows were fantastic! They exceeded my expectations big time! I was impressed that the same six performers could perform and remember all of those shows! The comedians on the ship were also extremely funny. The food in the main dining room was good, the steakhouse was better though (as expected for a $35 cover charge per person). We visited two ports, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta. I really enjoyed Cabo. There was a lot to do in the port area, and you can bargain with the locals on tours, and get them much cheaper than on the ship. We also found a nice beach that the locals go to right next to the port area, that no one else knew about. In Puerto Vallarta, we did not leave the port area because we did not have a shore excursion booked. They also had a warning on the ship that the crime rate was high so don't leave the tourist areas. Even though we didn't go far, you could tell it was a beautiful city! A tip of advice, in Cabo, (this only apply s to the first day if you are there for two days like us) be sure to be back 2-3 hours early for a tender, the line gets ridiculous, if you are there after then, be prepared to wait for up to 90 minutes to get back to the ship. Our cruise director Jaime was the best! Always high energy and active! I enjoyed our cruise on the Miracle, I just wish that there would have been more things to do on the ship.

Our balcony cabin was very good overall, my only real complaint was that there was only one electrical outlet. Be sure to plan accordingly.
