We just laid on the beach.  Great day.  It was nice to have all the cruise services (food, drink, staff) there. Tendering was a big choppy that day - very windy.

Prior to going on my cruise, I read several reviews here that indicated the Epic had issues like 

(1) slow service

(2) too many people crowded into public areas

(3) inadequate staff

(4) disorganized/slow embarkation/disembarkation

I started my cruise worrying I would experience the same but thankfully, I saw none of this during my cruise.OTHER

- If you need to stay in touch with family on the ship, the iConcierge app is a good solution.
