Princess Grand is declining in the quality of cruise experience, care about the ecology and they pursue the policy of getting as much money out of passengers as possible. We picked this cruise as we dont need to fly since it is round trip out of SF. The majority of cruisers are from the Bay Area and Sacramento Valley. Since it was Christmas vacation we had more families on board with kids. What I resent so much is the constant taking of photos by staff. Many of these expensive over priced photos are thrown away as they aren't purchased which is a terrible waste of paper and printer ink. There has got to be a better way of doing the photos and saving the environment by not wasting paper and printer ink. Ditto, the constant filling of passengers mail boxes with promotions for the SPA and Art auctions, especially since we have stated we have no interest in the SPA or Art Auction.

The food on board is high carb, high fat and sugar. I have repeatedly filled out the after cruise surveys asking for healthier choices .

The prell anti-bacterial solution stations have been removed from Horizon Court with sinks added at the entrance for passengers to wash their hands. We noted that less than half of the passengers wash their hands when entering Horizon Court. Signage urging passengers to wash hands is limited and no staff monitors are at the sink to direct passengers to wash their hands.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite with Balcony

Cabin S4

Nice suite, large roomy balcony but tiny flat screen TVs. We had new beds which was nice and a Jacuzzi tub. Suite passengers get some perks, breakfast in crown Grill was the one we enjoyed the most and being able to have room service the last day of the cruise. We booked this suite again for our next Mexican Riviera Cruise.

Port Reviews

Puerto Vallarta

Wal Mart near by and easy to get around

Mazatlan

I stayed on ship although my husband went deep fishing and caught some tuna which was left with the captain.

Manzanillo

Liked walking around the town although the weather was very hot.

San Francisco

This was the port that we got on ship and very easy & efficient. Love the new cruise terminal although exiting the ship is slow the last 2 times.
