Cabin: The Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony

My husband and I booked this cruise between Christmas and New Year in lieu of exchanging gifts. Both of us were tired from a hectic Fall at work. We live in the Boston area so cruising out of New York was convenient and we were able to take advantage of several free perks from NCL. I was able to meet a bucket list item of Christmas in New York as well.

Sailing in and out of New York is wonderful, even in winter. I was on the balcony to watch us pass the Statue of Liberty (despite the light rain) and under the Verrazano Bridge. I was also up VERY EARLY when we returned to port to see the skyline of Manhattan pre-dawn - despite the cold. Very special.

We were fortunate to be booked in a Haven Suite, which is a wonderful plus on a large ship. The Haven on the Breakaway has a private lounge, bar, restaurant and pool area.

Cabin Review

The Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin H5

You cannot beat the Haven for living the sweet suite life. The room was lovely, with plenty of storage, coffee maker, loveseat and private balcony, with quick access to the private pool area and Haven Lounge and restaurant. Room includes Butler and Concierge amenities.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

We spent 3 days pre-cruise in New York and celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas in New York is very special, despite the crowds

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We were not interested in a rushed visit to Disney or the Space Center. Been there, done that. We have family in Florida and organized a lunch near the port, which was great for us.

Nassau

This is one of my least favorite ports. We have been here multiple times, visited the highlights on previous visits etc. We got off the ship for about 45 minutes to stretch our legs then retreated back to the solitude of our ship.
