We cruise with Princess about twice a year because we love their ships, service and food. We chose this particular cruise because we wanted to see more of Australia (previously we had only been in Sydney). This particular cruise around Australia met and exceeded our expectations. We normally book interior cabins because that allows us to cruise more frequently. This cruise was no different and our cabin was large enough for our needs. It was clean and our room steward did a great job of keeping it that way. We had a problem with the shower which was fixed within hours - great service. Dining on Princess is always wonderful. Their food is top of the line and choices are numerous. If you can't find food you like, I'm not sure what you are looking for.

This ship, the Sun Princess, does not offer anytime dining (don't like being told when we have to eat) so we ate in the buffet a lot. The choice is normally the same as the dining room but you can pick and choose what you want. I repeat the food choices were excellent. Servers in the buffet were very attentive and saw to our every need. We did like the fact that the buffet offered a bar with some very fantastic servers. We usually drink soda or something else from the bar with our meals. It was far easier to get refills in the buffet than in the dining room. In the dining room, waiters are committed to serving food with drinks being secondary (as it should be so food stays hot). In the buffet, since you serve your own food, staff are available to get refills as soon as you want. As I said service was excellent.

Entertainment on Princess ships is far superior to any other lines we cruised. Their shows are very well done using the Princess singers and dancers. Comedy and other entertainment is always top-notch and this cruise was no exception. Music around the ship - atrium and lounges was also excellent.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin IF

Clean comfortable cabin very nicely located near but not too close to the elevator. It was spacious enough for the two of us. There was sufficient closet room to store our clothes and suitcases without problems. It has some overhead noise at about 10:00 PM (22:00) which lasts about half an hour - buffet is overhead - I guess they are cleaning up. Otherwise the room is very quiet since it is not a straight through corridor (doesn't run the length of the ship) and only has a few rooms in it. (Princess told us about this noise when we booked but we said we didn't mind and it certainly never bothered us.) The bathroom was sufficient for our needs with all the usual amenities. The room had a refrigerator, television and a large dressing table and chair. Overall, this is a good room to book if you are looking for interior.
