This was our first cruise in 5 years and were looking forward to some new ports - Aruba and Bonaire. We usually cruise Carnival and this cruise met and exceed most expectations.

First the ship. I read a lot of bad reviews on the Sunshine and personally I didn't experience any of the problems others have listed. I enjoyed the layout (except HAVING to go through the casino to get to different venues on deck 5). Having separate areas for Red Frog Pub, Alchemy, Havana bar, Limelight lounge made for an enjoyable layout. Each area had its own look. Yes, you have to get to the Limelight lounge early for the comedians. We went one night, knowing we were probably too late, and we didn't get a seat. Not biggie for us. Loved, loved, loved Scott in the Piano Bar. He was leaving the ship at the end of the cruise, so that will be a loss for future cruisers.

Entertainment was better than we expected, after reading all the reviews. We went to 3 our of 4 playlist performances and all we very entertaining. Motown night had to be limited because of the rocking of the ship. The after party in the atrium more than made up for the limited show! Chris, the Flying Scotsman, was a great Cruise Director. He put on a great show one evening and did a wonderful job hosting the events in the atrium post show.

Cabin Review

Spa Balcony

Cabin 8S

Spa Balcony. Will never again get a room on 10 deck forward - too much movement. Didn't take advantage of Spa benefits (our fault), Sunshine does not have therapy pool in Spa.
