This was a cruise to celebrate a 55th Birthday with friends and family. Overall this cruise was good, but not as good as Celebrity used to be 5 years ago. Service was excellent, specially in the dining room and café. Food was very good and variety and quality was excellent. Christmas extravaganza buffet was great. Production shows were very good and crew made an amazing celebration for Christmas with carols and Santa Parade. Cruise director was one of the worst in our 25 cruises, he did not know what to do, how to host a show or how to make activities fun. Most of the entertainment on board was bad, all comedians and singers were terrible. All shows except for 2 production shows were country and western, and amateur at that. Comedians sucked.

The ship is worn out and furniture is breaking down in the rooms. Every day someone was watering balconies, so if you wanted to stay out on the balcony with a book you could do it at your own risk, as you may get hosed down with dirty water at any second. Everywhere you go on the ship, people try to sell you something - food, drinks, art, gifts, ect. Gift shops are very bad, expensive, with no variety and poor quality. Someone in our group bought a watch and came home to see that the glass is scratched and he is stuck with it since you cannot return it once you are off the ship. I do not recommend making any purchases on board, everything is better on land.

Also on St. Thomas the ship embarked in the commercial dock far away from the city and beaches, ridiculous location and very inconvenient. This was a second cruise we took on the same ship, 2 years ago it skipped San Juan completely. This time it came so late, we did not make it to the trolley for a city tour. Rooms were clean, but it took 2-3 times of asking the same thing to get it - ice, soap, towels, etc. So, after this cruise we have decided next year to do something different, its just not worth the time, money and effort; all the corner cuttings that cruise lines make, make it a very poor vacation.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Furniture is breaking down, carpets are worn out, the linens are stained and dirty, and someone is constantly hosing down balconies with dirty water. Also few mornings around 6 am there were horrific noises outside like some machinery or metal hoods clinking that woke us up. Not a good room at all.
