We recently arrived home after a wonderful cruise with NCL on the Escape.
We are in our mid 40s with a 9 year old son. We enjoy NCL given the activities and overall feel of the ship. Always something to do! We also took my parents (both nearing 80) on this cruise and they equally enjoyed it. Many have recommended Disney cruises given we have a younger child - but honestly he is not a "Disney" kind of kid and we think NCL for us is a much better fit.
This is our second trip on the Escape and third on NCL overall, but our first time staying in the Haven. It was by far our best vacation and staying in the Haven was an amazing and special treat! We splurged and stayed in the Owners Suite (H2 category) and had Cabin 17700. It was well worth every dollar spent and was just an amazing experience! If anyone is thinking about the Haven --- BOOK IT! You will not be disappointed! The Escape's Haven area is very well appointed with a private pool, two jacuzzis, private sundeck area with another jacuzzi, private restaurant, Haven bar and plenty of space to relax and unwind. The priority embarkation and disembarkation for Haven guests were definite pluses.
Wonderful cabin, wonderful amenities....worth every penny! Butler and concierge service was great but our Room Steward, Randolf, really made the trip most memorable for us!
Easy embarkation and easy port to get into and out of. Flew in and out of Fort Lauderdale (more convenient and way less expensive than Miami) and only took us about 35 minutes each way to get back and forth to the FLL airport.
