celebrating 50th wedding anniversary and Christmas. We paid almost double what we normally pay for a RCCL cruise, and expected something special in return

The service on board was sub standard.

We did not receive our invitation to cruise critic party, nor did we receive diamond plus amenities in our cabin. When we complained at guest services, on day 3, we were told we had missed cruise critic party, and they would bring amenities. We later that evening received a plate of cookies and 3 glasses of water? Our adult sons, also diamond plus, had received cookies the first day, cheese and fruit second day, and cookies the 3rd day.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

did not care for this port

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Had dinner at Madd Jack great food and service.

My husband and I normally go on one or two cruises per year, we had to take a year off due to illness in the family, so we were very excited to be going on a much needed family cruise to celebrate Christmas and our 50th anniversary.

We have been on 40 rccl cruises and have never been tempted till now to try another cruise company. I asked a crew member why service was so bad, she told me many regular crew members were home for the holidays.

We heard lots of complaints from people we met in the concierge club, mainly regarding service, and shows. We have been on both the Oasis and the Allure several times, and there have always been 2 comedians in the comedy club, this year only one.

Cats was only available for us one afternoon, because of our dining time, we left after intermission, did not care for this production, just not our cup of tea.

My son used the gym facilities every day and was surprised to find many of the machines had out of order signs on them, and others he used did not work properly.

Both sons tried the zip line in Labadee, and were disappointed very high price for such a short experience .

Disembarkation was a bit slow, use porters if you want to get through faster.

Overall was a very huge disappointment, considering value for price paid. I'm not sure RCCL listens to past passenger complaints, I have read so many on Cruise Critic there seems to be the same complaints from so many.
