For starters I normally travel Royal Caribbean and I have been wanting to try a different cruise line for a change with 4 cruises under my belt. I decided to try Norwegian since I have heard only good things about them from friends who have cruised on Norwegian. I always go with an open mind when trying something new.

Day one, boarding was fine. The layout of the ship to get to the our room ( 12126 ) was a little strange but found the room. Regarding the amount of rooms on the ship I find it that it was over top. It almost looks like a giant hotel form the exterior. Now there was little options to get from the front to rear of the ship without going down endless hallways with twits and turns of cabin hallways. Was not a fan. The mandatory emergency drill was chaotic. They gathered so many people on those 3 available floors in small groups by letters. In a real emergency it be an " EPIC " failure. Royal Caribbean musters everyone outside which there is a lot more room and has quick access to the life boats in case of an emergency.

Now the room itself had a strange layout where the sink was located near the refrigerator and TV area. The sink was was way to small without getting water all over the floor from shaving. My main complaint about the room was the lighting over the sink. It had one LED light overhead which was basically equal to candle light. It was difficult to see what I was shaving. Annoying! I must say it was comfortable as far as the bed goes and the closet had ample room with these unique wired bins on the inside of the closet door which came in handy for shoes. I did find the TV to be very small where as my sister in law had a much bigger TV in that small studio. It should have been the opposite . My wife and I were traveling with my sister in law as mention earlier and I booked her a studio which worked out nicely because on Royal you have to pay for two when traveling by yourself. She have a issue where the cabin next door had sewage overflow and thye had to move those people to another cabin mean while my sister in law had to deal with stench from that cabin next her. That is a whole another story. She will be writing a review regarding her issue.
