We wanted a cruise from New Orleans so we could come back and spend New Years Eve in NO. We booked all excursions from ship but one, and were very satisfied with them. We had only traveled on Norwegian on the Pride of America around Hawaii, twice and thought the dining was suburb. These specialty restaurants were a disappointment. La Cucuina was great! Moderno salad bar was excelllent; meat was delicious. Le Bistro was a disappointment - not bad but not as good as expected. Same with Los Lobos. But drinks everywhere were great. We did not have a beverage package, but did not spend a fortune for drinks. All were really good - margaritas, mojitos, champagne cocktails. Am hoping that food will rise to the occasion. We ate Christmas dinner in the Venetian Room, main dining room, because we thought that the menu would be great - it wasn't! Public areas are very nicely decorated and enjoyed. Entertainment was OK, piano and singer in atrium bar were really good. Did not see the magic shows or comedians - crowded. Bliss was always too crowded to enjoy so very little dancing opportunity. We were satisfied with the service overall. Did not have a coffee punch card anymore; could not get all drinks in all venues; no real adult areas without kids. First Christmas cruise so did not know what to expect, but overall very nice.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Cabin was smaller than mini suites on other lines, but adequate. The main problem was lighting. Very dim lights in bath, vanity, etc. Tub was nice, separate toilet, but again lighting was minimal. Balcony was as described, and room location was great.
