I wanted to get away over Christmas. This was the first time I have ever done something like this. There were too many sea days and not enough port days. I went to the Cruise Critic meeting on December 19 at La Cucina, hoping to connect with some of the other passengers; unfortunately that didn't work out. I put my $20 into the slot pull but got cheated out of the $10 return on our money. The woman taking the money had my name and room number; I don't know why she didn't contact me. Also, I ended up eating every meal by myself. I could have stayed home and done that.
I booked a studio. There were brown scuff marks on the wall of the toilet enclosure; the kick plate under the sink was kicked in and needed repair; and the carpet and floor were NOT cleaned under the closet overhangs. There was dust, lint and God knows what else lurking under there. Also, why are there no protective coverings on the mattress and pillows?
The on board ship store consisted of two measly shelves in the liquor store on Deck 8, which sold mostly candy and junk food. Compared to the ship stores on the Pride of America and the Spirit, this was pitiful and the prices were ridiculous! $14 for a small bottle of Extra Strength Tylenol? Come on.......
Size wise it was adequate. See previous comments on cabin condition.
Not enough beach chairs to handle the number of passengers who left the ship for Great Stirrup Cay.
The two and a half hour wait to board the ship was too long. Not enough seating or refreshments available.
