We choose the Carnival Valor because it was a 4 day cruise for Christmas. This was my husband's first cruise and I was hopeful he would be pleased; however, he was not. Myself, I have cruised in the past with Royal Carribean and Norweigan cruise lines and they were great. Disappointed with the Carnival Valor. The ship was 5 hours late embarking due to fog; which we release cannot be helped. This was the start.

The overall staff was outstanding. Very helpful friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We were in a balcony suite which was nice but small compared to other cruise lines. There were no clocks in the room. Very few TV channels and poor programs. Drinking water in room was $3.75 bottle. You could not speak to a live person on the phone as to general information. For the price of the priority stateroom, very disappointed. Also the room service was very limited. When reading online, you are lead to believe anything you order can be room service; not so.

From here it is downhill. The food was repetitious and awful. Without going into detail, see review by CRICKET07. They could not have said it better. There were way too many people, long lines to do about anything. The elevator had no indicator light when arriving just a chime and you better be fast to decide which one it was because the doors close fast.
