I chose this cruise because I wanted to go to both Japan and Korea and also because this is a new ship.
Food - The food was extremely bad and nothing like what I experienced from the other Royal Caribean ships , pale comparison to Disney. They made you pay for everything and kept on selling you their specialty restaurants. We had dinner in one of their specialty restaurants, and we paid $35 per person and it did not even include any drinks. You had to pay for bottled water if you wanted it at $5 per bottle. Not only that, the food was terrible, and if you wanted lobster, you need to pay another $21.
Service - I didn't know this cruise line was catered to mainland Chinese. We are Chinese American so they were not willing to serve us. I literally saw the waiter walked passed our table with water and bread and served the tables with the mainland Chinese customers. Not once but three times until I called him over and asked why were we treated differently. I had to fight to get a table in the main dining room even though we had a reservation. They apparently did not follow the rule on the specified dinner time. I saw the manager let the mainland Chinese have a table when their dinner time was later. Windjammer was a mad house, and it was like a war zone. Always packed and we could not find a table unless you go there an hour or two after prime dinner or lunch time. On the last day, we were able to discover a secret that was to have breakfast at the Solarium Bistro. It was quiet there although the selection was not as much as at the Windjammer.
Great cabin, lots of room for storage. Very modern!
