We chose this cruise because we didnt want to go to Nassau or the Bahamas and we'd already been on the other two itineraries offered from Galveston. Also that the port was in Galveston and we could drive down in a couple of hours and save flight and hotel money.
The ship is beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful. Well, up till you're about to walk off the ship for the last time, then i get the impression they couldn't care less about you. guess no more tips coming in. Food was good. Guys wasnt like I thought it would be, but a good burger. Blue Lagoon is fabulous both for breakfast and lunch. Lido buffet was, well, Lido buffet. We chose anytime dining and will not do so again. The service the first night we went to the dining room was superb. but the second night ruined it for us. Lackadaisicle (sp) waiter, who called our chicken dinner "Col. Sanders" and all but tossed our plates on the table in front of us. Saving grace was his assistant, who outshined him. kept water filled. came by with rolls etc. Guess the waiter though he wasnt getting a tip cause we were anytime. Well he was partially right. For good service I tip extra, in cash. I handed the assistant a 5. but he got nothing. First night dinner was steak house and worth every penny. Service, ambiance and Food was nothing short of outstanding. Half price wine didnt hurt either . All in all a good cruise, good value for the money and the rest I needed
What a wonderful cabin. sandwiched between two other cabins, aft view extra deep and extra wide. 2 chairs, 2 loungers and a table. Sad part was the weather, and not Carnival's fault of course but rain kept us from fully enjoying it, Still we did have a couple breakfasts out there (my favorite part of the trip). Cabin Steward was excellent . kept us full of ice and always a friend face in the hallway.
Fourth trip to Cozumel so stayed in Puerto Maya. Had chips and salsa and Margaritas and shopped and looked around
Didnt venture out of port as it was our first visit and I had read some negative stuff prior to the trip, but had a blast in port looking around and stopping for a couple drinks and snacks
went on the ziplining thing. then the beach and ate there. then shopped the little village. not really Honduras I guess, since its an exclusive port, but interesting just the same
