We sailed on the Caribbean Princes Novermber 5th-13th. This was my 13th and my husband's 10th cruise. This was our 2nd Princess cruise. We didn't care for Princess the first time we sailed with them 3 years ago. The people were so stuffy and obnoxious. I received an exceptional offer from Princess and decided to give them another go. Glad we did!
We stayed at the Hilton Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale. We took an Uber to the port. Embarkation was fairly smooth and quick. We arrived around 11:00-11:15 am. It took about 30 minutes from security/check in until we were aboard. Not too bad.
The service was really good. Our cabin steward, Jonathan was a nice guy and kept our cabin clean. We were in cabin C230, on the Caribe Deck. We could hear some noise from the hallway but most of the time if was quiet. The balcony is quite large and we spent a lot of time out there. You could fit probably 4 people on the balcony and still have some room! The balconies below us had no shade but ours was partially shaded which helped on those hot days. The cabin is fairly close to elevators and there was a very handy laundry room just down the hall. We are Gold status and get no laundry perks. Bring your own detergent (found in the travel/trial size section of most grocery/drug stores) to save money. The machines takes tokens which you can purchase with your sail card. Unfortunately, the cabin was tired and is in need of updating. There was a running water sound coming from the ceiling in the bathroom, the carpets were worn, the curtains were ripped, the sink was cracked and chipped, the light in the bathroom was yellowed and worn and the toilet had an iffy flush. *Tip: keep your curtains drawn while in port. It will help keep the room cooler.
