I cruise once 2-3 years, this year was not planned but the price was just too good. For price of family ski trip, we decided to skip snow and go for the sands. There was many negative review, so I had to do lots of digging to ensure we had good experience. Trip didn't start well for us. Embark was to start 2 pm but thinking I was early when I got there at 12 noon, place was swarmed and no nearby parking so I had to go to J terminal for parking and ran back. Upon the ship, when to Casino to claim my drink vouchers that I purchased online but my name was not on so after talking to Service Desk, I ended up paying for new vouchers (at higher price since some were not available on the ship.) other than this mishap (HQ error), this was a very surprisingly pleasant trip. I think there were many neg review since people had different expectation. It is like going to motel 6 and expecting Waldorf experience that is not going to happen. Ship is a ship and think of it as 3-4 star resort than expectation should be on par.

1. Ship: was beautiful and well maintained. Atrium was bit smaller than expected but those Swarovski stair case can blind you. Ship had tons of elevator and stairs, from front to back at several location so moving up and down was no problem. Unlike some large ships with two to four location which cramp up the area.

2. Cleanliness: Ship was very clean. Staff constantly cleaned, with men urinating all over the floor and carrying that urine on their shoes did carry the smell around but not that bad.

Cabin B2

3. Cabin (10060 & 10062): was clean and space enough. Balcony bit small but it is all about the view. When the sofa bed was open getting to balcony was tight and I kept scratching my leg, so I put towel over the edge, which helped and room attendant Jupri did the same through out the trip (thanks.) Also opened the balcony partition open to connect to next room. *Improvement: bathroom with urine smell, it seems the smell just wouldn't go away, realizing that came from the cleaning brush, please get rid of those and have main one for cleaning crew to use it. Port side, toward front, near elevator central location to many public area. up 4 floor for gym on oneside, indoor pool other side. 4 floor down for casino to back and Theater to front.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Old San Juan walking doesn't require an excursion. everything is within 10-15 min walk from the Port, also there is free City hop on hop off buses that visit all the landmark. Visiting San Cristobal and El Morro, these are US National Park so if you have NPS pass take it as it will save you money. Same for Military ID will get you a free pass for you and three of your party.

Nassau

Unless you want to go snorkel or visit paradise island, you can take easy stroll off the port to walk around the shopping area or go to nearby beach (1/2 mile walk), along the way many open market to shop for crafts.
